Down Under is Coming Over
Over the last several months I have been engaged in an e-dialogue with Duane Dixon, Pastor of Campus Development for Riverview Church. Riverview is a church of 3500 that worships in Burswood, Australia. My latest exchange happened last week when he was in Irvine, CA working on the establishment of a new campus for Riverview. This latest edition (campus #4) is a church plant with whom the Riverview team has had close relationship since their launch in 2001.
The fascinating part of their story is that both campuses - Riverview, Australia and Riverview, Irvine, CA will work concurrently. Following is an excerpt from Duane's email about how that will work.
Due to the time difference we are able to run it exactly the same as we
campuses at home
We are in the process of setting all that up and transitioning the church through the change process with the aim to launch in the beginning of March.
What are you learning about technology? About mergers? About long distance models?
Chime in!

Hey!
Keep the posts coming - this is a great site!

Aussie Aussie Aussie
I think alot of Australian churches are actually leading the way in 'multi site' as you call it.
I am planting in Canberra and our mother church is a country church about 100kms from us that is multi site and I think it is a great idea for country areas also.
We also will be planting a new congregation in the next 18 months.
