Sunny Thomas (LifeChurch.tv) reports from Carlsbad, CA about an inaugural meeting with tech-related directors from 18 great churches to talk about issues and solutions related to the technical production aspects of a worship experience:
... attending the first ever Multi-Site [Production] Round Table discussion for church technical directors. This discussion is the brainchild of Dennis Choy, Technical and Production Pastor of North Coast Church, Jill Gille, Executive Production Manager of Willow Creek Church, and Daryl Cripe, Senior Director of Production for Grace Community Church. ... started off the session by discussing leadership issues, staff performance issues, and what was working well at our churches.
Some others in attendance include, Jeff VanderGiessen (Mars Hill Church), Nate Krause (Seacoast), Jay Sizzle (New Spring?), Dave Clark (National Community Church). These are the ones I found via Twitter -- an amazing real-time connector. Aside: be sure to read and comment on Cynthia Ware's commentary on Twitter and the relationship economy at our Digital @ Leadership Network blog.
I'm very encouraged to see churches connecting with each other, even making that extra travel effort to meet face-to-face, and learning and working together. This to me shows a great Kingdom-mindedness, and I believe it will further the development and quality of multi-sites. I'm anticipating great things to come out of this. Kudos and Props to you, Dennis, for hosting the round table!

Is there anyway to get a summary of the conversation so that we too can learn from it?

@Bryon, I don't think a summary is available. I did chat briefly with Dennis Choy, who coordinated that meeting, and I recall him saying that this was a first gathering, and it was to get to know each other, and share some of their top issues, challenges, and opportunities.

Thanks anyway. I'm glad they're doing it. I look forward to learning from everyone.
