This is a great example of explaining to normal people in a congregation about launching a multi-site campus (aka satellite location). Watch the Town Hall videos: part 1 and part 2. The town hall presented a great deal of relevant details, covering the why, the how, the costs, and also answered people's questions, with a good dose of laughter and joy. Funniest comment I heard about why start a new location, in order to bring church to the people, instead of the other way around: "Jesus could be pastoring 30 minutes away and I'm still not going to go... I'd listen to the podcast."
In addition to the town hall, there's also a web page with frequently asked questions and more info about Hope's Multi-Site Initiative.
Know of other great online resources for how churches have communicated with a congregation about launching a second location, in essence changing from a typical one-campus church to a multi-site church? Add a comment and share!

This is good stuff DJ. When we were casting the vision we did something similar and depended a lot on a blog we set up at www.suncresteast.org. Since we launched, I reorganized it slightly and have most of that early stuff under the tab "multi-site." It has worked effectively for us.
thanks for the great post.
