DC is all 'a BUZZ'

Just got an email from Warren Bird who is attending the Buzz Conference, hosted by Mark Batterson and National Community Church in Washington DC and he said the conference was already living up to its name.  Included in the buzz, is a new survey on theatre churches that Warren is releasing at this conference.  It will be available on the on this blog soon.  Until then, get follow the Buzz Conference on Batterson's blog.

Never underestimate your janitor's work!

As I mentioned a few days back we recently started our fifth group of multi-site churches.  Included in this group is The Rock Church.

The Rock Church experienced the power of the janitors’ network when it began to search for a new location – like rented space at a school. When staffers approached the school janitor about using the cafeteria, the janitor said “no way” but told a janitor at another school about the pitch. The janitor at school #2 contacted The Rock staffers and said “Bring it on, I love Jesus and I need the money. The school cafeteria is all yours.” In January 2006, two new services were started with plans to launch additional venues. Currently, 7500 people attend The Rock in 8 services with 2 venues on 2 sites.

I just got my first glimpse at The Multi-site Church Revolution and it looks really cool. The staff at Zondervan are amazing. Its wild to read stuff I banged out on a laptop drinking endless Diet Cokes at Just Fresh actually published in a real book with real pictures and real pages. No band playing, no fireworks, but a pretty cool experience. I know this is probably old hat for Warren and Greg, but I'm stoked.

If you would like a copy of the book you have four choices:

1. Register to have a copy mailed to you free in exchange for reviewing the book on your blog.

2. Show up at the Multi-site Coast-to-Coast conference where Zondervan is giving away copies to everyone who comes. Unfortunately its sold out.

3. Order a copy on Amazon.com. It should be available soon.

4. Buy a copy in a Christian bookstore. It should arrive within a couple of weeks at a bookstore near you.
